A lively draw at Prenton Park kept Tranmere's play-off hopes alive and secured Yeovil's League One survival.
Yeovil fired a warning shot on the hour mark when Danny Schofield rattled the Tranmere bar from 25 yards.
The warning went unheeded as Jon Obika netted from a difficult angle after linking up with Gavin Tomlin.
But the Glovers failed to deal with Ryan Shotton's long throw and Antony Kay fired a priceless equaliser with his left foot 12 minutes from time.
