Defender Sam Collins made a vital last-minute block to ensure Hartlepool earned a draw from their League One relegation dogfight at Crewe.
Gylfi Sigurdsson had the goal at his mercy in the last minute but Collins got a vital touch to keep out the effort at Gresty Road.
Calvin Zola thought he had put Crewe ahead after four minutes but his strike was ruled out for offside.
Hartlepool rarely threatened and held on to keep a clean sheet for the point.
