Swindon grabbed three second-half goals to leave Brighton hovering dangerously near the relegation spots.
Defender Adam Virgo scored the opener for the hosts after Gary Dicker headed back a corner from Dean Cox, but Gordon Greer poked home the equaliser.
Billy Paynter headed in after keeper Michel Kuipers failed to hold a Simon Cox shot, before Cox calmly slotted in a Anthony McNamee pass.
Dicker volleyed in a late consolation after a cross by substitute Gary Hart.
