Yeovil moved out of the relegation zone and dumped Northampton into the bottom four, thanks to a goal from Jon Obika.
A string of fine saves from visiting goalkeeper Chris Dunn robbed Nathan Smith and Obika of early goals as Yeovil applied all the pressure.
Obika, on loan from Spurs, finally made the breakthrough after being played in by Luke Rodgers' incisive pass.
Andy Welsh missed a good chance to make it 2-0, before Northampton's Danny Jackman hit the post with a free-kick.
