Jermaine Beckford marked his return after a ban with two goals to settle this top-of-the-table contest.
Beckford broke the deadlock with a rasping volley after Luciano Becchio headed down Ben Parker's free-kick.
And Beckford added his second after the break, shooting home after swapping passes with Robert Snodgrass.
The Leeds striker then squandered a great chance for his treble while Sam Baldock wasted MK Dons' best opening, screwing the ball wide from six yards.
