Dickov's strike was his third of the season

Paul Dickov's second-half goal rescued a point for Leicester as the leaders consolidated their place at the top of the League One table.

The Scot levelled in the 66th minute when he fired past keeper Marc Cousins after a corner was partially cleared.

Colchester took the lead in the 23rd minute when Mark Yeates curled a fine right-footed free-kick from 22 yards.

Substitute Lloyd Dyer was denied a late winner on 87 minutes after his shot was well saved by Cousins.
