Southend 2-0 Walsall

Goals from Kevin Betsy and Theo Robinson helped Southend to victory over Walsall whose striker Michael Ricketts was sent off early on.

The ex-Bolton player was shown his third red of the season when he lashed out at Alan McCormack.

Betsy gave the home side the lead after the break when he fired in low into the bottom-left corner from 18 yards.

Robinson made sure the points stayed in Essex when he smacked in from 16 yards after collecting Dorian Dervite's pass.
