Promotion-chasing Scunthorpe had to work hard before getting the better of managerless Leyton Orient.

The home side struggled in front of goal but took the lead just before the break when Martyn Woolford's cross found Paul Hayes at the far post.

Orient levelled on 59 minutes after Dean Morgan raced through the middle to beat keeper Joe Murphy.

But five minutes later, Garry Thompson curled a right-footed shot past Jamie Jones for the winner.
