Striker Steve Gillespie scored against his former side to help Colchester beat 10-man Cheltenham.

Visiting keeper Scott Brown denied Mark Yeates in a goalless first half before Chris Westwood nodded in Ian Westlake's corner to put the Robins ahead.

Dean Hammond headed Yeates' free-kick past Brown to level before substitute John Finnigan received a second yellow card only six minutes after coming on.

Gillespie headed the U's in front and Yeates' low shot rounded off the win.
