Goals from Alex Revell and Francis Laurent moved Southend in to the play-off places and kept Swindon above the drop zone on goal difference alone.

Jean-Francois Christophe fed Kevin Betsy on the right wing and his cross was headed home by Revell from six yards to put the hosts ahead.

Swindon levelled when Michael Timlin's cross was headed back by Simon Cox and Billy Paynter nodded in from six yards.

But Laurent replaced the injured Revell and headed in Peter Clarke's cross.
