Substitute Leon McSweeney grabbed a stunning equaliser for Stockport against 10-man Southend having been on the pitch for less than 60 seconds.
The hosts had taken the lead when Adam Federici's goal kick was flicked on to Lee Barnard who turned Jaroslaw Fojut before firing past Fraser Forster.
Stockport piled forward in the second half and Irish defender McSweeney blasted into the net from 25 yards.
The Shrimpers had Dan Harding sent off for a late challenge on McSweeney.
