Hal Robson-Kanu netted the winner for Southend as they beat nine-man Yeovil.
The visitors took the lead after Nathan Jones brought down Alex Revell in the penalty area, leaving Lee Barnard to fire home the resulting spot-kick.
On-loan Robson-Kanu doubled the Shrimpers' lead in the 86th minute before Danny Schofield pulled one back with a close-range finish.
But Southend held on and Yeovil had Schofield and Gary Roberts sent off in time added on.
