Carlisle missed a 10th-minute penalty, awarded after Clayton Ince brought down Danny Carlton. Ince saved from Danny Graham's spot kick to redeem himself.

Saddlers took the lead a minute from the interval when Dwayne Mattis headed in Alex Nicholls' cross.

Jabo Ibehre's shot on the turn made it 2-0 before Marc Bridge-Wilkinson scored an 82nd-minute penalty for Carlisle after a foul by Anthony Gerrard.
