A second-half strike from Sam Vokes kept Bournemouth's hopes of avoiding relegation alive as they ground out a vital win over fellow strugglers Crewe.
Vokes pounced on a mistake by Crewe defender Daniel O'Donnell after 55 minutes to give the Cherries their sixth win in a row.
Crewe threatened little in the first half but Kenny Lunt went close to an equaliser from distance late on.
But Bournemouth held on to move within a point of safety with one game left.
