Tranmere 3-1 Hartlepool

Tranmere kept their play-off hopes alive as they beat 10-man Hartlepool.

Chris Greenacre put Rovers ahead from a rebound after Arran Lee-Barratt saved his penalty, which was awarded after Jamie McCunnie fouled Ian Moore.

McCunnie was sent off for his challenge and things got worse for Hartlepool when keeper Michael Nelson turned Chris Shuker's cross into his own net.

Ritchie Humphreys headed a reply but team-mate Tom Craddock missed a penalty before Shane Sherriff headed the third.


Tranmere: Coyne, Stockdale, Kay, Chorley, Taylor, Shuker (Zola 70), McLaren, Jennings (Mullin 90), Sherriff, Moore, Greenacre.

Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore told BBC Radio Merseyside:

"We have three of the next four games at home and we have to pick up maximum points if we are to stay in the race for a play-off spot."
