Swansea City are 11 points clear at the top of League One and unbeaten in 16 after seeing off plucky Port Vale. Chris Herd was twice denied by Swansea keeper Dorus de Vries as the hosts threatened early on.
But Jason Scotland broke the deadlock at the other end with a second-half penalty when Andy Robinson was fouled.
Vale pushed for an equaliser but with 14 minutes to go Ferrie Bodde sealed the win touching over the rebound from Tom Butler's strike against the post.
