A three-goal burst in the first half won Bournemouth the battle of the League One administration sides. The Cherries took the lead in the 13th minute when Sam Vokes rounded goalkeeper Dean Brill to score.
A minute later Alan Goodall missed Danny Hollands' long ball, Jo Kuffour pouncing to make it 2-0. Max Gradel added a third with a 30-yard volley.
A 35-yarder from Lewis Emanuel gave the Hatters hope, but Kuffour hit a late fourth for Bournemouth from close in.
