Gillingham striker Simeon Jackson got off to a nightmare start, missing a host of chances as the Gills were held at home by lowly Cheltenham. Jackson tested Shane Higgs from 18 yards before he missed Delroy Facey's pinpoint cross as the Gills threatened.
Adam Miller's half-volley was tipped on to the bar by Higgs, before Andy Lindegaard fired over for the visitors.
Jackson then scuffed a shot straight at Higgs before Steven Gillespie crashed against the bar for Cheltenham.
