Bournemouth beat fellow League One strugglers Port Vale and recorded their first win at Vale Park since 1987. Sam Vokes gave the Cherries an early lead from close range after keeper Joe Anyon had palmed out Jo Kuffour's shot.
Vokes then rose well to head down Lee Bradbury's cross for Danny Hollands to fire in a superb volley to make it 2-0.
George Pilkington gave Vale hope with a 20-yard shot after the break, but Shaun Cooper hammered in a late free-kick as the Cherries finished strongly.
