The win moves Keith Downing's side out of the drop zone |
Striker Steve Gillespie scored twice as Cheltenham defeated Hartlepool to move out of the drop zone with only their second away win of the season. Gillespie gave the Robins the lead after 11 minutes, chasing a long clearance that caught in the blustery wind and slotting in low from close in.
Hartlepool's James Brown had a shot cleared off the line by Alan Wright as the hosts pushed for an equaliser.
But seven minutes from time Gillespie's chip at the far post sealed the win.
