Heffernan raced through to put Rovers ahead |
Paul Heffernan was on target as Doncaster secured a deserved win and climbed out of the bottom four. Brian Stock went close early on but his rasping drive which was well saved by Crewe keeper Ben Williams.
Heffernan put Rovers ahead when he slid the ball in after racing through and it was 2-0 when Danny Woodards turned Lewis Guy's cross into his own net.
Crewe created little, with Ryan Lowe's close-range strike and Lee Barnard's tame shot as close as they came.
