Crewe recorded a solid win over Huddersfield with two first-half goals. Lee Barnard, on-loan from Spurs, held off David Mirfin on his way through to goal before slotting home confidently.
Barnard was twice denied by Terriers keeper Matt Glennon while Ben Williams denied them at the other end with a fine save to keep out Mirfin's header.
Six minutes before the break Eugen Bopp beat Glennon to a long ball and, with the keeper out of his goal, the winger rolled the ball into the empty net.
