Veteran striker Paul Furling scored his first goal for Luton as the Hatters claimed a comfortable League One win. Town went ahead after 17 minutes when David Bell cut inside two men and brilliantly fired low into the corner.
Gillingham levelled when Mark Bentley headed in Nicky Southall's corner but Luton regained the lead five minutes later through Furlong's diving header.
They wrapped up the points when Bentley shoved over substitute Paul McVeigh and Matthew Spring scored from the spot.
