Leeds open their League One campaign with a trip to Tranmere, the first time the teams have met in a league match. United's fellow former Championship clubs both start with home games, Luton hosting promoted Hartlepool while Southend entertain Leyton Orient.
Last season's League Two champions Walsall welcome Carlisle and Swindon, who also came up, are at Northampton.
League Two play-off winners Bristol Rovers go to Port Vale, while League One losers Yeovil are at Huddersfield.
