Nottingham Forest endured a frustrating finish to the season as they missed out on an automatic promotion place and were held by Crewe in the process. Crewe boss Dario Gradi's side put on an impressive display to earn a point for his last match as the club's manager.
Substitute Scott Dobie struck a post late on for Forest while Luke Chambers' header was cleared off the line.
Crewe's Mark Carrington forced two late saves from Paul Smith and Forest will now play Yeovil in the play-offs.
