Bradford striker Dean Windass, 36, has been named League One's player of the month for August after scoring five goals in six games for the Bantams. Also nominated were Huddersfield's Pawel Abbott, Rotherham's Deon Burton and Roberto Martinez of Swansea. "This is the fittest I have ever seen Dean, He's worked really hard in pre-season and this definitely showed," panel chairman Chris Kamara said. "There is no reason why he cannot go on and better his best ever goals tally."
