Brentford 1-1 Peterborough

Brentford and Peterborough shared the spoils with a draw at Griffin Park.

The visitors opened the scoring in the 57th minute when Adam Newton crossed from the right and former Wimbledon striker Andy Clarke stabbed the ball home at the far post.

Bees boss Wally Downes responded by throwing Jay Tabb and Mark Peters into the fray and the double switch soon paid dividends.

In the 67th minute, Tabb picked out Steve Evans and the midfielder side-stepped Simon Rea's challenge before drilling a low left-foot shot across Posh keeper Brian Murphy.

Buoyed by the goal, Brentford pressed forward in search of a second. On 71 minutes, Peters chipped the ball against the crossbar after some intricate footwork and Tabb also headed the rebound against the upright.

Both sides had chances in the first period. For Brentford Michael Dobson's corner struck the post and Rowan Vine was denied by a fine save from Murphy, while the dangerous Clarke went close twice for Posh.

Peterborough: Murphy, Arber, Rea, Burton, Newton, Scott, Shields, Boucaud, Jelleyman, Andy Clarke, Farrell.
