Millwall helped their Championship play-off hopes as they beat Hull courtesy of Steve Morison's 16th goal of the season.
The Wales striker latched on to a Liam Trotter pass and expertly dinked the ball over City keeper Brad Guzan after 33 minutes for the eventual winner.
Morison skied a shot and an Andros Townsend free-kick went wide as the visitors looked the more threatening.
David Amoo had a late Hull chance but had his effort saved.
Millwall leapfrogged Hull with the win but are only a point ahead of their rivals.
The Tigers remain in the hunt for a top six spot but will have to improve on this performance to maintain their play-off hopes.
The home side made a brisk start and Matty Fryatt's neat turn and cross had to be cleared by Jack Smith with Robert Koren waiting to pounce.
Fryatt also sent a header wide during a tame opening before Millwall went ahead as Morison made his presence felt.
Trotter had won possession from James Harper in midfield and played a clever pass through to Morison, who enhanced his reputation with an impressive finish.
The frustration of the home crowd was not being improved by their side and Hull boss Nigel Pearson brought on former Millwall loanee Jay Simpson to help his attack.
However, it was the visitors who went closest to adding to their lead as Morison and Townsend almost scored.
Hull belatedly attacked late on but it was to no avail.
