Max Gradel and Jonny Howson each scored twice as Leeds fired five past Doncaster to get their Championship promotion push back on track.
Gradel put Leeds ahead only for Billy Sharp to poke home an equaliser at the second attempt just before half-time.
Franck Moussa's close-range finish gave Rovers the lead but a minute later Howson's 22-yard shot levelled matters.
Luciano Becchio's eight-yard strike, and neat finishes from Gradel and Howson propelled Leeds to victory.
It was a deserved win for Leeds, who further enhanced their status as the Championship's top scorers by capitalising on some poor Rovers defending.
However, the home side's own defensive frailties almost cost them, giving Doncaster hope of achieving a result right up until the final quarter of the game.
But Leeds' superior firepower told and the result lifted them to 57 points, four clear of seventh placed Burnley, who have two games in hand.
In contrast, Doncaster have 42 points from 35 games and remain in danger of being sucked into a relegation battle.
The lively Gradel has been a key player for Leeds this season and it was no surprise when he gave them the lead in the 11th minute, jinking away from his marker before firing in low.
Leeds dominated play and should have been further ahead, but their wastefulness was punished when Sharp was fed by John Oster and, despite his first effort being blocked by Leeds keeper Kasper Schmeichel, he scored at the second attempt.
The home supporters were stunned early in the second half when Moussa broke clear to give Rovers the lead.
After Howson's rapid reply, the Leeds fans grew increasingly frustrated until Becchio put them ahead again with a close-range finish following a Leigh Bromby knock-down. It was a decisive blow.
Gradel scored his second and United's fourth after Rovers keeper Gary Woods had denied Billy Paynter. It was left to Howson to put the icing on the cake, running clear to finish with aplomb.
