Coventry claimed a crucial point against Ipswich, despite having Marlon King sent off at the Ricoh Arena.
King was dismissed for a reckless lunge on the hour - but Aidy Boothroyd's side held on for a draw.
Rory Fallon had put Roy Keane's side ahead with a smart finish in the 44th minute but Freddy Eastwood levelled just after the break.
Ipswich pushed for a winner after King's dismissal but could not find a way through the Coventry defence.
Ipswich, boosted by the surprise return of captain Gareth McAuley, created the first clear-cut chance of the afternoon.
Carlos Edwards' deep cross was met by Rory Fallon, who could not direct his powerful header past Keiren Westwood.
King then flashed a header across the face of goal that struck the far post as Coventry enjoyed a spell of pressure.
But the visitors came even closer moments later when Edwards saw his stinging shot from 25 yards come back off the underside of the crossbar and bounce to safety.
Ipswich were rewarded with the opener a minute before half-time, and it came courtesy of Fallon.
Westwood was only able to parry Jack Colback's low drive, with Fallon on hand to fire the loose ball into the roof of the net.
But it took Coventry less than three minutes of the second half to level the scores.
King did well to shield the ball and lay it off to Eastwood who, in space on the edge of the area, sent a low shot wide beyond Marton Fulop and into the far corner.
However, King was then dismissed by referee Russell Booth after he clattered into Darren O'Dea after the striker had taken a poor touch.
Ipswich toiled to make the extra man count but Coventry held on for an important point in their quest for promotion.
