QPR maintained their unbeaten league record but slipped to second in the Championship after a goalless draw at Nottingham Forest.
In a game of few chances, Forest survived a penalty claim after Lewis McGugan's challenge on Tommy Smith.
McGugan had a powerful strike saved by Paddy Kenny before the home side were also denied a spot-kick.
Robert Earnshaw was bundled over by QPR's Alejandro Faurlin but his penalty appeals were waved away.
The fact that the two decisions revolving around referee Andy D'Urso proved to be the main talking points showed the tightness of the game.
Adel Taarabt provided some creativity for Rangers but they failed to break the deadlock as they drew for the seventh time in nine games.
Just after their penalty appeal, Moroccan playmaker Taarabt produced a delicate chip but it was tipped out of the top corner by keeper Lee Camp.
He also lashed a volley wide from 16 yards, although for the most part Forest managed to stifle their opponents.
Jamie Mackie did briefly escape the attentions of the Forest defence but the Scotland international was forced wide and his effort found the side netting.
Dexter Blackstock had a shot saved by Kenny in an effort for the home side before they were also denied a spot-kick as the spoils were shared.
