Bristol City battled back for a point against Barnsley in a six-goal thriller at Ashton Gate.
Andy Gray scored an early penalty for the Tykes before he poked in Kieran Trippier's cross to double the lead.
The Robins hit back with quick-fire goals from Marvin Elliott and Albert Adomah to draw level on 21 minutes.
Adam Hammill's deflected shot edged Barnsley ahead, before City equalised again with a David Clarkson spot-kick after Jay McEveley fouled Ivan Sproule.
It was a torrid start for Keith Millen's first home game in charge for City, conceding two goals inside the opening 12 minutes.
Goalkeeper David James had no chance with Gray's penalty and the former England number one was soon picking the ball out of the net again as Gray converted from five yards.
Matters got even worse for the hosts as midfielder Cole Skuse was stretchered off the field with an injury but then their miraculous recovery began.
Barnsley's keeper Luke Steele saved from Nicky Hunt but Elliot followed up to chip in the rebound to pull one back.
And two minutes later the scores were level, as Adomah tucked in Clarkson's cross to conclude a remarkable and frantic opening to the match.
Barnsley seemed to have grabbed the winner just after the break, thanks to a fine run and slightly fortunate finish from Hamill, only for the scores to be level again when Clarkson smashed home his penalty.
Both sides pushed desperately for a late winner as City substitute John Akinde shot wide from 12 yards out and McEveley blazed over for the visitors.
