Bristol City 5-3 Barnsley

Danny Haynes and Nicky Maynard both scored twice as Bristol City beat Barnsley in an eight-goal thriller.

Haynes' header gave City the lead before Hugo Colace fired a leveller and Daniel Bogdanovic put the Tykes ahead.

Maynard restored the home side's advantage with two headers either side of the break before setting up Haynes to make it 4-2 from close range.

Paul Hartley scored a penalty after a foul on Maynard, ensuring Andy Gray's late header was only a consolation.

Bristol City caretaker manager Keith Millen:

"I am not thinking beyond the next game and have not yet spoken to the chairman about my own future.

"It was a tremendous effort by the lads... our strikers worked their socks off and we always looked a threat.

"We again looked too open defensively and that may be something we have to put up with until the end of the season."

Barnsley manager Mark Robins:
"It was a cracking open game between two sides who wanted to attack and we kept going to the end.

"There was no faulting the effort of the players and if we continue like that we will pick up better results.

"I'm just disappointed we couldn't hang in there after going 2-1 up. We couldn't handle their pace up front and conceded some poor goals."
