Sheffield Wednesday climbed out of the Championship relegation zone with a victory over Blackpool.
The home side hit the woodwork when Ian Evatt headed against the post, while a Marcus Tudgay shot for the visitors also hit the upright.
Tom Soares broke the deadlock with a 20-yard shot for the Owls before Leon Clarke's header added their second.
Charlie Adam pulled one back with a long range strike for Blackpool but Wednesday saw out the game for the win.
It was a second victory in as many game for new Owls boss Alan Irvine as his side moved out of the bottom three at the expense of Reading.
Blackpool manager Ian Holloway: "That was nothing like we've been playing. People have got carried away, saying we could do this and we could do that.
"We're not ready for that yet - the people that I put in the team tonight lost a bit of energy.
"I've just had a bit of a pop because we sometimes have to tell each other the honest truth… I think David Vaughan needed to be told because that wasn't him tonight."
Sheffield Wednesday boss Alan Irvine:
"It's a fantastic start and the lads deserve enormous credit.
"What has been the difference? I don't know.
"It could quite simply be a change of voice and a new face, but the lads have certainly taken a lot of things we have talked about on board.
"It's early days and this could just be the honeymoon period.
"Having said that, I think Blackpool are a very good team so I'm absolutely delighted."
