Plymouth 0-1 Crystal Palace

Victor Moses's early goal earned victory for Crystal Palace to move them just a point off the play-off places.

Moses latched onto Lee Hills's pass inside the box and clipped his shot over Plymouth goalkeeper Romain Larrieu and into the net.

Darren Ambrose came close to doubling the lead but Larrieu managed to tip his clever lob over the crossbar.

Plymouth's best chance came with 20 minutes left when Alan Judge's shot flew inches wide.

Plymouth manager Paul Mariner told BBC Radio Devon:

"It was a difficult afternoon all round. It was difficult weather conditions for the players and the fans.

"We knew the game was going to be a close one and we had a lot of pressure in the second half without creating too much."

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock:

"I thought the best player on the pitch scored the winner. There was only him who could have scored a goal like that in those conditions.

"We had to match them and I went with a team with a spine, and I thought the spine was very strong today.

"I said whatever football they thought about playing they had to go back to basics because of the conditions."
