Derby 2-2 West Brom

DJ Campbell grabbed a dramatic fourth-minute injury-time equaliser as Derby snatched a late point at Pride Park.

Derby took the lead through Paul Dickov, whose shot from the edge of the box deflected into the top corner.

Simon Cox hit a controversial equaliser when he appeared to bundle in Chris Brunt's cross using his hand.

Graham Dorrans looked to have won it for West Brom when his 92nd-minute shot went in, but Campbell headed in a leveller two minutes later.

Campbell will be relieved to have atoned for the error that looked like costing his side a point.

The striker lost possession just two minutes before to allow Dorrans to put Albion 2-1 in front.

Both sides had early chances to score, Lee Croft's cross just evading Rob Hulse who was arriving in the box, while Cox was unlucky with a snap shot.

Albion were fortunate not to be reduced to 10 men when Dorrans reacted angrily to a strong challenge from Robbie Savage on the half-hour mark.

The Scot got up and appeared to kick Savage in the chest but referee Darren Deadman only produced a yellow card.

Scott Carson then parried a close range effort from Hulse when a goal had seemed certain.

But there was nothing Carson could do to keep out Dickov's shot three minutes later.

Chris Brunt spurned a good chance to equalise when he headed over the bar.

When the equaliser did come, Cox's effort looked dubious but Derby's protests fell on deaf ears.

With time running out, Dorrans produced a superb finish into the top corner that looked like earning Albion all three points.

But Campbell earned the Rams a deserved draw when he headed home Lee Hendrie's cross at the death.

Derby County manager Nigel Clough:

"We were very aggrieved by the manner of their equaliser. We all felt it was handball.

"In the dressing room, the players confirmed it was handball. There are four officials out there and surely one should be in a position to see that.

"Defeat would have been a travesty."

West Bromwich Albion manager Roberto di Matteo:
"From where we were standing it looked a valid goal. The linesman gave it straight away.

"But, if I reflect on the whole game, I think it was a deserved draw for Derby.

"I think that you take a point but we are disappointed because we were so close to getting all three points."
