Peterborough 1-2 Barnsley

Jon Macken's angled drive gave Barnsley the win and keeps Peterborough firmly in the Championship relegation zone.

Darren Ferguson's Peterborough took the lead with a George Boyd penalty, Darren Moore penalised for holding Gabriel Zakuani as Boyd's corner came in.

Barnsley took less than two minutes to level through Daniel Bogdanovic with a powerful header from Macken's cross.

Macken lashed a first-half winner into the roof of the net to lift the Tykes away from the drop zone.

Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson:

"I thought we started brightly and got ourselves in front only to shoot ourselves in the foot by conceding two sloppy goals.

"It was vital that we had Barnsley chasing the game but poor concentration levels left us in that position and we are not learning our lesson.

"But we have to start doing that quickly otherwise we are going to be in for one hell of a fight.

"We still have 93 points to play for and I firmly believe we will keep ourselves in this division."

Barnsley manager Mark Robins told BBC Radio Sheffield:

"We were professional, the two goals were quality moves and I thought we had to weather their storm.

"They put us under a lot of pressure and they do that very well, but we have defended well."
