Middlesbrough took top spot in the Championship following victory against Doncaster at the Riverside.
Tuncay Sanli, a substitute for Marvin Emnes who came off injured, opened the scoring when he slotted home after latching onto a Leroy Lita header.
Lita made it 2-0 when he controlled Tony McMahon's ball brilliantly before hammering his effort high into the net.
Doncaster went close through Brian Stock whose fierce effort from 30 yards was well saved by Danny Coyne.
Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate: "We have set high standards in the opening few games and if we want to get back up where we want to be as a club then we must stick to them.
"We had long spells of possession and maybe did not make that count as much as it should.
"We still need to tighten up, stay focused and work hard. That said, it is nice to be top."
Doncaster boss Sean O'Driscoll:
"Even at two down we were still in it. We had a lot of possession in their half and we had chances.
"But if you lose your discipline and organisation then you get punished.
"It is hard to keep your shape when both your full backs keep on going forward and you have players like Adam Johnson and Tuncay running at you."
