An injury-time own goal from Kaspars Gorkss resulted in Plymouth taking a share of the spoils against QPR.
Heidar Helguson's first-half header looked to have given QPR a first Championship victory this term.
QPR had taken the lead three minutes before the break through Helguson after a shot by Adel Taarabt was deflected.
However, as Plymouth piled on the pressure, defender Gorkss headed Gary Sawyer's long throw into his own net.
Plymouth manager Paul Sturrock: "I am going to take the positives from the game and doff my cap on deserving a point this time.
"I was really pleased with how we played in the second half after going 1-0 down in the first.
"It's the sort of game we might have lost 2-0 last season. This season I have seen a new resolve in us, we kept going until the final minute and that never-say-die attitude earned us a merited point."
QPR manager Jim Magilton:
"We are disappointed with the final moment, their goal, especially after we had dealt with their set pieces all afternoon.
"We set out very attack minded today, we dominated possession, we had some wonderful opportunities to win the game.
"But we didn't lose the game and we know that Plymouth is a difficult place to come and Paul (Sturrock) threw everything at us and probably feels as if he got his just reward."
