Peter Ramage salvaged a point for QPR as they finally found a way past keeper Paul Rachubka in the 86th minute.

The home side dominated the first half but Ben Burgess's first-time effort from Gary Taylor-Fletcher's pass gave the Seasiders the lead at the break.

Kaspars Gorkss saw a header pushed away by Rachubka and Rowan Vine dragged his shot wide as Keith Southern and Jason Euell missed chances for the visitors.

But Ramage's low shot snaked through a packed area to level the game late on.

The goal was the defender's first in more than 100 career appearances.

It looked unlikely that Jim Magilton's men would have to wait so late for a goal as Heidar Helguson rattled the bar and Adel Taarabt fired straight at the keeper in a commanding performance before the break.

But a well-worked opener from Burgess ensured nerves became increasingly frayed on the home bench.

Manager Jim Magilton introduced Vine, Akos Buzsaky and Patrick Agyemang off the bench in the hope of finding a way back into the match.

The changes almost yielded results with Vine finding the woodwork after wasting a good opening.

But Ramage finally made the pressure pay as his attempt evaded everyone.

QPR manager Jim Magilton:
"It's a mixture of feeling relieved and also disappointed that we didn't win the game.

"We created chances in the first half and then shot ourselves in the foot with the goal we conceded.

"It was tough, because when you come up against Ian Holloway's team you expect them to keep going and be dogged and determined.

"In the end, it was a good point for us. It was important that we got something from the game and I think we deserved to."

Blackpool manager Ian Holloway:
"My boys are disappointed we didn't win but I have to say I'd have felt like a complete robber if we had won. A draw was a fair result.

"My team just need to change their mindset. We're not a small club in this division and we are not punching above our weight."
