Swansea midfielder Leon Britton challenges Sean McAllister
Marcus Tudgay missed a last-gasp header for Sheffield Wednesday as Swansea City recovered from back-to-back defeats to draw in a Hillsborough stalemate.
Wednesday's Tudgay squandered an early chance after capitalising on some hesitation from Garry Monk.
A long-range Jordi Gomez shot brought the best out of Wednesday keeper Lee Grant before Swans stopper Dorus de Vries saved from striker Luke Varney.
Grant again denied Gomez as play-off chasing Swansea moved up to eighth.
Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws:
"Swansea are a good footballing side, but the players worked extremely hard and I thought we were unlucky not to get a goal. We've done as good a job on them as anybody this season.
"Some of the football we played was excellent - particularly in the second half - and their goalkeeper had to pull off some great saves.
"We're probably safe but it's still mathematically possible for us to go down so we'll keep going.
"I thought Luke Varney was excellent. His movement was good and he hung in the air well."
Swansea City manager Roberto Martinez:
"We had long spells of possession, but the final pass let us down. I thought that a draw was probably a fair result.
"I was very pleased with the attitude of the players on a very difficult pitch and overall the performance was what we needed.
"At least now we have a break to give the players a rest, ready for the final push. I'm excited about the next six games."
