Derby 0-0 Barnsley

Derby and Barnsley played out a goalless draw that leaves both clubs still embroiled in the Championship relegation battle.

Michael Mifsud twice spurned one-on-one opportunities for Barnsley as Derby keeper Stephen Bywater foiled him.

Bywater was on hand again to save from point-blank range from Jon Macken and Tykes' Mounir El Haimour hit a post.

Derby's best chance fell to John Eustace but his header was well saved by Barnsley keeper Heinz Muller.

Derby boss Nigel Clough:

"We are relieved that we've come away with a point when we were under par.

"We're very pleased with a point, but not pleased with the performance, although you have to give Barnsley a lot of credit.

"They played well and we didn't, but we've got a point out of it and better off than we were before the start."

Barnsley boss Simon Davey:

"Ordinarily a point at Derby would be something for a big celebration, but on this occasion, it has to go down as a disappointment.

"That's up there with our best performances. We dominated the first 45 minutes and we were better than them in the second half.

"It's frustrating to create chances and only end up with one point."
