David Mooney's second-half header lifted Norwich out of the relegation zone as they won against Plymouth.
Mooney got on the end of Gary Doherty's cross eight minutes into the second half for his second goal this week.
Wes Hoolahan, Sammy Clingan and Jason Shackell all had chances in the first half as Norwich dominated the game.
Plymouth's Jamie Mackie did well from long range before Mooney struck, and not even Darel Russel's injury-time dismissal could deny Norwich victory.
Norwich City manager Bryan Gunn told BBC Radio Norfolk:
"We had a sit down with the boys at the beginning of the week and said what a crucial week it could be.
"To finish it with six points, two clean sheets, 25,000 fans going home happy on Tuesday and Saturday, now we've got something to build on.
"Now we've got a massive game at St Andrews and we're really looking forward to it because we'll have another big backing there," he said.
Plymouth boss Paul Sturrock:
"Norwich played well and were positive while right from the start we looked as though we were just trying to come away with a point.
"It's very disappointing and there's no doubt that the last two results have put us back into the rat race.
"If we can win three of the last seven that will put us safe on 52 points."
