Rob Hulse's late goal earned Derby three points at the expense of play-off hopefuls Bristol City.
Chris Porter gave the Rams the lead in the first minute when he was on hand to convert Mile Sterjovski's low ball past goalkeeper Adriano Basso.
City looked likely to come away with a point when Gavin Williams fired in a brilliant 25-yard volley.
But straight after the restart, Gary Teale drilled in a cross which found Hulse who smacked in the winner.

"It was the way we achieved it without playing great and taking the game to the opposition.
"I think it has evened itself out after midweek. The way the games went you might have thought we would have got three points on Wednesday."
Bristol City boss Gary Johnson: "We had a lack of concentration in the first minute but it gave us 80-odd minutes to get back into the game.
"I think the lads did everything they could apart from sticking the ball in the back of the net.
"We had all the possession and chances and crosses into the box - it doesn't help us with the three points."
