Goals from Mike Williamson and Tamas Priskin gave Watford victory at Blackpool and boosted the side's Championship survival hopes.
Williamson broke the deadlock after the break when he powered in a header from Jobi McAnuff's corner.
Priskin added the Hornets' second late in the game when he lofted his effort over the stranded Matt Gilks.
Gary Taylor-Fletcher went close for Blackpool early on with a shot that forced Scott Loach into making a save.
Blackpool caretaker manager Tony Parkes: "We look a little tired after three games in a week but that is not the total excuse.
"We need to tighten up and stop helping the opposition with our own mistakes.
"It was all a little disappointing and I think both managers knew the first goal was going to be the big goal today."
Watford manager Brendan Rodgers: "I am hungry for success at Watford and the structures and systems I have put in place since my arrival are beginning to pay dividends.
"My defence regularly got some stick earlier in the season but we are now looking sound and keeping clean sheets.
"We are on the up and are playing with confidence. Today the first half was fairly even but I knew we could step it up a gear and the first goal mattered a great deal."
