Plymouth 1-3 Crystal Palace

Plymouth's winless run continued as Crystal Palace strolled to a comfortable victory at Home Park.

The Pilgrims last won on Boxing Day and Neil Danns guided in a header on 21 minutes to deepen the gloom.

The home crowd's disquiet increased when Alan Lee slotted in after a Sean Scannell shot came back off the post.

John Oster fired home on 43 minutes to put Palace out of sight with Gary Sawyer's second-half strike never likely to spark a comeback.

Plymouth manager Paul Sturrock:

"I am here until I am told otherwise. I intend to be here for the long haul and as I have said before I am up for the challenge because I knew that this season it was never going to be easy.

"I have not been relegated before as a manager and don't intend to be now. We have got to turn things around and I am sure we can.

"Three of our next four games are at home and we have the opportunity especially if we play like we did in the second half there tonight."

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock:

"That's the best I have seen us play for a long while, possibly the best since I have been here.

"We knew we would have to come out of the traps quickly and we did that. I was delighted.

"I feel for Paul because you could not say that one of his players tonight did not give their all."
