Doncaster dominated the battle of the bottom two in the Championship but were held to a draw by Nottingham Forest.
Gareth Taylor headed wide before James Coppinger lashed a shot against the crossbar with Forest's Lee Camp beaten.
Martin Woods shot over and Coppinger thought he had won it when his effort was fumbled by Camp, but the officials ruled it had not crossed the line.
Nathan Tyson was Forest's only threat, the striker flashing two shots wide before and after the interval.
Doncaster manager Sean O'Driscoll: "If we had had a goalscorer from the start of the season we would have been talking about automatic promotion, not relegation.
"99% of what we do has been excellent, but it's difficult to keep going week in week out when you don't get reward.
"We are still on the lookout but we are only as close as we have ever been."
Nottingham Forest boss Colin Calderwood: "The fans were super, they've proved what a good set of supporters they are and it's nice to give them some reward.
"However, we do need to give them a greater reward for their support.
"I thought it was a fair result overall, they started brightly and then we came back into it."
