Crystal Palace 4-2 Bristol City

Crystal Palace produced a memorable display to brush aside Bristol City.

John Oster put the Eagles ahead, shooting home after a flowing move and Sean Scannell's superb low strike doubled the advantage on 13 minutes.

Dele Adebola pulled a goal back with a fine overhead kick after great work by Michael McIndoe.

But Craig Beattie's strike and Jose Fonte's towering header made it 4-1 and the home side eased to victory despite Nicky Maynard's neat late finish.

Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock on teenage debutant Nathanial Clyne:

"I asked him how he was before the game and he was as cool as a cucumber and he played like it.

"There are still a few more kids who have not played yet. It would be nice by the end of the season to put them all in the team.

"We feel we are going in the right direction when we put the kids in, like we did today."

Bristol City manager Gary Johnson:
"I was surprised we conceded four goals. We have had some good away performances but that was not one.

"When you're second best in all departments there is a fair chance you are going to get beat.

"It did not help when you go two goals down though bad play because then you have a mountain to climb and it's very difficult.

"I was disappointed with their first goal because it definitely went out of play. But they still scored three others. If that was the only goal we lost by, then I would have been really disappointed but it was our team which lost us the game, not that decision."
