Clinton Morrison's third league goal of the season stunned his former club as Coventry won away at Birmingham.
Morrison had already hit the bar and had penalty claims rejected after he was felled by Liam Ridgewell, before he nodded in from a flicked-on corner.
Birmingham fought back and Ridgewell's header was saved by Keiren Westwood, who also pushed a header on to the bar.
Jay Tabb should have made it two but shot over, before Westwood scrambled Frank Queudrue's shot off the line.

"We've lost to a set-piece and we could have had five from set-pieces ourselves.
"Our chance at the end, I couldn't see if it was over the line and the assistant probably couldn't see it either, so he couldn't really give it."
Coventry boss Chris Coleman: "That is three points against a very good side. It's the best win I've had since I've been at the club, so I'm delighted.
"Birmingham threw everything at us, but it was just our night.
"It's not just Clinton's goal, it's his all-round play. He linked up well with Leon Best throughout."
