Pablo Counago missed a penalty for Ipswich as Charlton came from a goal down to earn a 1-1 draw at Portman Road on Tuesday night.
The home side led through Owen Garvan's 37th-minute free-kick.
Ipswich substitute Counago then had a penalty saved by Nicky Weaver after a handball by left-back Youga.
The miss came back to haunt Ipswich as Charlton equalised when midfielder Nick Bailey hooked in Hameur Bouazza's right-wing cross.
Ipswich manager Jim Magilton: "We had enough chances to win three games. If you don't take them, at 1-0, it is always precarious.
"They have quality. If you are not going to take your chances you make sure you shut up shop.
"It's two points dropped, for me, but performance-wise it's getting better for us. We've just got to kill teams off. It's driving me nuts."
Charlton boss Alan Pardew:

"We are a team in recovery. Although we are fighting and trying to find ourselves, we could've nicked it.
"I think we need a win. There's no doubt about that."
